KOKOSING INDUSTRIAL’S MARINE DIVISION SUPPORTS PORT’S GROWTH WITH DREDGING, CONSTRUCTION WORK

Kokosing, Inc. is one of the largest family-owned construction companies in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic — not bad for a business that started in 1951 as a collaboration between just two men: Bill Burgett and Lester Rinehart.
Burgett and Rinehart built their first jobs together — mostly odd jobs in construction and remodeling — into a veritable empire with annual revenues over $2 billion, 3,800 team members and more than $500 million in equipment assets. The company’s co-CEOs are both members of the Burgett family, in its third generation of leadership.
The most familiar aspect of Kokosing for members of the Port of Baltimore community will be Kokosing Industrial’s Marine Division. It operates out of two locations: Baltimore and Cheboygan, MI.
“Our Baltimore location has a core group of approximately 50 team members and our Cheboygan location is of similar size,” said Scott
Dauphinais, Area Manager for the Marine Division. “We have the ability to increase our team to upwards of 100 when necessary by sharing Kokosing team members between Kokosing Industrial and Kokosing Construction in Annapolis Junction.”
The Marine Division is mainly focused on two business lines: heavy marine construction and dredging.
“Our marine construction capabilities enable us to work with smaller, private clients as well as state and federal agencies,” said Dauphinais. Those
