capabilities consist of everything from breakwalls/revetments to bulkheads, piers, demolition, fender systems, subaqueous pipeline and submarine cable installations. The company’s dredging capabilities include mechani- cal dredging, coupled with hydraulic and mechanical unloading for private, state and federal entities.
In this work, Kokosing values
its partnership with the Maryland Port Administration (MPA) greatly. “Whether it is dredging or berth reconstruction, we have had a
very positive relationship working alongside the Port of Baltimore and the MPA,” said Dauphinais. “We pride ourselves in being a dedicated, local marine contractor that fully supports the efforts of the Port and MPA in their growth while continuing to have Baltimore as one of the most prosperous ports on the East Coast.”
Different Names, Same High-Quality Service
The Kokosing Industrial Marine Division’s Baltimore location goes
all the way back to 1921, when it operated as Martin G. Imbach, also
a family-owned business. Imbach successfully supported work in Baltimore until 2002, when CG Enterprises, another family-owned business, purchased Imbach and rebranded as Corman Imbach Marine. After continued success, the company was again rebranded as Corman Marine Construction (CMC). In 2018, CMC was sold to yet another family- owned organization — Kokosing.
“Despite name changes, one thing that remains consistent is the caliber of our team members that consistently deliver high-quality products to the owners that we work for,” said Dauphinais.
The caliber of its team is just one of many factors that set Kokosing apart from its competitors, Dauphinais said. “Naturally, every contractor preaches safety as their main priority, as that is
the most important aspect of our work and we could not agree more. However, there is a difference between preaching safety and having a culture of safety,” he said. “I can say, without prejudice, that Kokosing’s culture of safety is like nothing I have seen before. It is a truly amazing sight to see entire teams fully committed not only to their own safety, but to the safety of each teammate above all else.”
Going forward, Kokosing will main- tain its marine operations through- out the country and internationally. “The beauty of having marine-based equipment is that we can travel to wherever the work is on water,” said Dauphinais. “We always maintain
a vision of growth and dedicate the time to investigate all opportunities.”
With the support of its parent company, he added, the Marine Division’s potential is limitless.
