Ro/Ro
For years, Baltimore has handled more ro/ro farm and construction machinery
as well as autos and light trucks than any other U.S. port. Ro/ro, self-propelled on
and off a ship, is expensive to move and requires special care. Our highly skilled labor force ensures that our ro/ro is handled more carefully here than at any other port.
Forest Products
We specifically target forest products in our strategic business plan. Why? Because we have what it takes to nurture and grow this important business. Baltimore continues to be focused on attracting additional customers and volume to our current customer base. Some of the largest forest product firms in the world have taken root in Baltimore. Baltimore’s forest products terminal, Balterm, has become one of the United States’ leading handlers of imported forest products, providing world-class service to customers.
