NEW COMMISSIONERS ARE EAGER TO HELP BALTIMORE THRIVE
The Maryland Port Commission was formed to establish policies that will improve the competitive position of the Port of Baltimore within the international maritime industry. Members of the Commission are appointed by the Governor and are
asked to serve at least a three-year term.
CURRENT MEMBERS are Karenthia A. Barber, John D. Brewer, Jr., Adam
J. Neuman, David M. Richardson, Sandy A. Roberts and M. Scott Webb. Read on to learn more about the two newest Commission members and
what they hope to contribute during their term.

    Adam J. Neuman
Adam J. Neuman was appointed to the Maryland Port Commission by Gov. Wes Moore on July 1.
He serves as Chief of Staff and Special Advisor to the President
of the Baltimore Ravens, acting as strategic counsel and managing all administrative, operational, financial and legal activities for President Sashi Brown. He plays a leadership role in developing ownership presentations and organization-wide strategic initiatives, constructing annual reports and bridging Baltimore’s football operations and corporate strategy.
Previously, Neuman served the
Big Ten Conference as Chief of Staff, Strategy and Operations, as well as Deputy General Counsel. Neuman joined the Big Ten Conference in January 2020 and played a strategic role in conference expansion, including the remarkable additions of the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA),
the University of Southern California (USC), the University of Oregon and the University of Washington, which joined the conference in 2024. He also served on the deal team that negotiated record- breaking media rights ($8 billion) with CBS, NBC and FOX.
Neuman teaches a three-credit master-level course in “Intercollegiate Athletic Administration” at Columbia University, is a member of the Philanthropy Committee for the Sports Lawyers Association, a Next Generation Advisory Board Member for the Anti-Defamation League, and serves on the Board of Advisors for Israel Baseball Americas.
What did you learn about the Port during your first meeting as a Commissioner?
I collaborated with a group of people who really care about moving the Port forward and ensuring the safety and economic feasibility of the Port. With
